Black Friday 2009

It was a day to remember because everything that I wanted was gone by the time that I got to Walmart this morning at 4:15. I hate that because Walmart is a 24 hour store all of their sales are gone by the time that people get there in the morning. I don't think it is fair that people who get up even earlier then they should don't get to have the chance to get the items they want because a store decides to go against what it had advertised. I was able to get a couple of things but not all of the things that I wanted.
I also have to say that my sister and her husband are master shoppers for black Friday. I have learned that you always go with someone. One stays with the cart and another goes and gets the merchandise. I have also learned that at Target you need to hunt for a line. Otherwise you will be there until tomorrow.
I did have alot of fun and got a lot of goodies for Christmas. Now the only shopping that I have left is the little things. Yippee!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving at Grandma Francis'

It was a really interesting Thanksgiving. I remember when I was growing up for Thanksgiving we would all get together to eat dinner. There was always the same things there and there was always enough room for everyone.
This year was a little different. Grandma is getting older and not able to do as many things so I missed out on the sour pickles this year. It just doesn't seem the same with out the pickles. I did survive though.
When I was growing up there would be there would always be 24 or 25 people at Thanksgiving. Now that cousins are married and having babies of their own we almost don't fit at Grandma's house. This year there were about 45 people there and we were missing cousins and their families. It is amazing that we have gotten to be that big as a family. I do enjoy the family dinners though. It just is a little more crazy!

Polar Express

November 25, 2009
We were able to go to Polar Express. The kids had so much fun. They were doing a happy dance when we got to the trains. Curtis wasn't really excited until he saw the trains. We went to a fast food place in Heber. In there they have a model train that drives around the entire place and all Curtis could do was to watch the train. They also had this really cool pen that both of the kids got. They love it.
We went to the train station and got our tickets. When we got there it was so busy, but the anticipation of the ride was getting to the kids. Especially because we had the kids was the movie Polar Express while we were driving. When we were finally able to board, we got into our seats along the side that was best able to see Santa. Nikki was full of giggles and smiles as we were waiting. All Curtis wanted to do was to go between the seats where Mark and I were sitting so that it because his own personal jungle gym.
During the ride to the North Pole. The kids get to have a home made cookie from Mrs. Santa Claus. Nikki made sure to tell every one that it was her favorite cookie. After that they hand out Hot Chocolate. Mrs. Claus came and gave us the recipe for the chocolate cookies which she made sure to tell us included Elf giggles. So Nikki started putting the giggles in her pocket to save them for later.
We read the story of the Polar Express. We got to the North Pole and the kids were able to se Santa. Then we started back. While we were driving back Santa came into our train car. The look on Nikki and Curtis' faces was priceless. Nikki asked for a Dolly and Curtis asked for a train. They were each given a bell. Then started the never ending version of Jingle Bells.
It was a really fun night and may memories made. It was something that we want to repeat next year.

Curtis' Stitches

November 7th we were trying to get things cleaned up for the family party we were supposed to have. When I heard a loud smack and then instant hysterical crying. When I went in to check it out blood was pooring out of Curtis' nose. I quickly grabbed him and took him into the bathroom to try and stop the bleeding. When I found out that not only was blood coming out of both sides of his not he had a inch long cut just under his nose. I yelled for Mark who was outside, but he didn't hear me. So, I had Nikki go and get him. I told him to call his mom and come to see what she thought of the cut. I was thinking that we were going to have to get stitches. So, after Grandma checked and agreed with we were off to Wee Care. When we got there they told us they didn't have anyone who would stitch it up because of where it was. So we left and had to go to MacKay Dee Hospital.
When we got there we were told it would be an hour and a half to two hour wait. So, we had my sisters come pick up Nikki because she was crazy and because there were so many sick people in the waiting room. We waited so long that Curtis started feeling better and his cut didn't look very bad. After being very frustrated by the whole situation I ask one of the Nurses how much longer it would be. They then checked him again and then it was about 5 minutes and we were in.
The nurse and doctor asked a couple of questions and then told us some of our options. When they were telling us this they said it would only need 1 stitch so we should just put some numbing liquid in the spot. Needless to say that didn't work for the two year old. So they decided to give him a shot to numb the area for stitching. While they were cleaning the area it opened again to what I first saw and decided that he was going to have to have more stitches then they thought. So they got out a sheet and was wrapped him up so that he couldn't move. He started to get really mad. They poked him three different times to get the numbing medicine in the right areas.
It took the doctor a little while to get started and there were a few delays, but they didn't finally get the stitches done. They thought they could do 4 but ended up doing 5. He was such a brave boy through the entire thing I am really proud of him!! Hopefully you won't be able to notice it very much!

Halloween

This was a very fun Halloween. This year we decided to have Nikki's birthday party on Halloween and have a costume party. It was a lot of fun. There were 20 kids there and only 2 of them were not related to us. Nikki dressed up like a butterfly princess and Curtis was a sheriff. They were both adorable.
We took them regular trick or treating around my old neighborhood with my sisters' kids. We had a lot of fun!!!
