November 7th we were trying to get things cleaned up for the family party we were supposed to have. When I heard a loud smack and then instant hysterical crying. When I went in to check it out blood was pooring out of Curtis' nose. I quickly grabbed him and took him into the bathroom to try and stop the bleeding. When I found out that not only was blood coming out of both sides of his not he had a inch long cut just under his nose. I yelled for Mark who was outside, but he didn't hear me. So, I had Nikki go and get him. I told him to call his mom and come to see what she thought of the cut. I was thinking that we were going to have to get stitches. So, after Grandma checked and agreed with we were off to Wee Care. When we got there they told us they didn't have anyone who would stitch it up because of where it was. So we left and had to go to MacKay Dee Hospital.
When we got there we were told it would be an hour and a half to two hour wait. So, we had my sisters come pick up Nikki because she was crazy and because there were so many sick people in the waiting room. We waited so long that Curtis started feeling better and his cut didn't look very bad. After being very frustrated by the whole situation I ask one of the Nurses how much longer it would be. They then checked him again and then it was about 5 minutes and we were in.
The nurse and doctor asked a couple of questions and then told us some of our options. When they were telling us this they said it would only need 1 stitch so we should just put some numbing liquid in the spot. Needless to say that didn't work for the two year old. So they decided to give him a shot to numb the area for stitching. While they were cleaning the area it opened again to what I first saw and decided that he was going to have to have more stitches then they thought. So they got out a sheet and was wrapped him up so that he couldn't move. He started to get really mad. They poked him three different times to get the numbing medicine in the right areas.
It took the doctor a little while to get started and there were a few delays, but they didn't finally get the stitches done. They thought they could do 4 but ended up doing 5. He was such a brave boy through the entire thing I am really proud of him!! Hopefully you won't be able to notice it very much!
